Byron Bay

Glamping At Byron

During our short trip to Byron, we stayed in one of 5 off the grid Eco Style Glamping Tents on a family run cattle farm only 5minutes from the main street of Byron Bay township. These glamping tents are what dreams are made of.

The tent sleeps two people and is the perfect stay for couples or solo travelers. We booked this accommodation through Airbnb and our stay with Barry and Lou far exceeded all expectations. I remember looking at the photos when booking the accommodation and thinking how beautiful it looked. When we arrived it was even more spectacular in person. The hosts of this property have put so much thought into the little touches to make you feel at home away from home. With the glamping so close to the township the accommodation was easy to find and made seeing Bryon really easy and stress free. Our stay here was way too short and I can’t wait to return to share the space with some friends or family in summer!

Food Tips: Basically any cafe/bar or restaurant is amazing in Byron however here are some of my favourites.

Breakfast at Combi: Before setting off on a big day out adventuring around Byron Bay, Combi is the place to go for a healthy start to the day with a huge menu ranging from a big breaky with bacon and eggs to Acari bowls and coconuts.

The Farm: Almost everything on their menu is from the local area when it is in season, from southern Queensland to as far down as Port Macquarie. Their food is packed with nutrients and full of flavour. After grabbing a bite to eat, check out the produce grown on the farm and some of the local farm animals. This is a great place to visit for families with kids or even just with a group of friends, there really is something to please everyone.

Miss Margarita:
For a good time and some delicious Mexican, you can’t go past Miss Margarita from dinner. Every time I’ve gone here for dinner there is always a wait or long line out the front so make sure to book ahead.

ZEPHYR HORSES

Riding with Zephyr Horses was the highlight of our trip to Byron.  The horses are great to ride and so well kept. The staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating.  On the day, we had scheduled to go for an afternoon beach ride however a large lightning storm came over Bryon and Zephyr were forced to cancel the ride for the safety of the horses and riders.

Due to the popularity of this ranch, there wasn’t any availability for other rides and we were leaving Byron the following day. In order to make sure we didn’t miss out on our ride; Zephyr Horses went above and beyond to organize a private ride for us before we left Byron.

Having completed many rides over the years, the experience of riding on the beach was unforgettable and a true highlight. A big thankyou to Zephyr Horses for going above and beyond to ensure we got a positive and memorable experience. We hope to be back again one day soon!

Killen Falls

Last but not least – if you have time while you’re in Byron to venture out to some waterfalls, this one is truely magical. Although Byron is world famous for it’s pristine beaches, I recommend you put side you haves, put on your woking shoes and head to the Byron hinterlands to chase some waterfalls.

If you’re keen for a swim while you’re there, take the dirt trail down the last bit. It’s a bit steep and rocky, and can be slippery after rain, so take care!

Where: Killen Falls Drive (Tintenbar)
How Far: A 25-minute drive from Byron township
What to expect: A mix of short walks
